[SongNamLabs] ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Scanly: PDF Scanner OCR mobile application (the "App").
### 2. Information We Collect
**Data Stored Locally (Not Transmitted):**
- Images, PDF files, text files (TXT), and scanned document metadata are processed and stored strictly locally on your device. We do not upload your documents to any external server.
- OCR text extraction via Google ML Kit is performed on-device.
**Data Collected Automatically (Via Third-Party SDKs):**
- Device and usage information, such as IP address, advertising ID, app performance data, and generic location data may be collected by our third-party advertising partners to provide relevant ads.
**Data We Do NOT Collect:**
- We do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information (PII) directly from you. We do not require you to create an account.
### 3. Permissions Used
The App requires the following Android permissions to function properly:
- **CAMERA (`android.permission.CAMERA`):** Required to take pictures of documents for scanning, and to scan QR codes.
- **INTERNET (`android.permission.INTERNET`):** Required to fetch and display advertisements from ad networks.
- **AD_ID (`com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID`):** Required to provide relevant, personalized advertisements.
### 4. Third-Party Services
The App utilizes third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) which may collect data in accordance with their respective privacy policies:

- **Google User Messaging Platform (UMP):** Used to gather consent for ad personalization (GDPR compliance for EEA users).
- **Google ML Kit:** Used for on-device Text Recognition (OCR) and Barcode Scanning. Processing happens on the device.

- **Local Data:** Scanned documents and extracted texts remain on your device until you manually delete them or uninstall the App.
- **Third-Party Data:** Data collected by SDKs (like AdMob) is retained according to their own data retention policies.
### 6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Data automatically collected by AdMob is shared with the Google ad network purely for advertising and analytics purposes.
### 7. User Rights & Control
- **Data Deletion:** You can delete all locally stored documents by clearing the App's data in your device settings or manually deleting files within the App.
- **Ad Preferences:** You can opt-out of personalized advertising by navigating to your device's Android Settings > Privacy > Ads, and selecting "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization."
### 8. Children's Privacy
Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.
### 9. Account Deletion
Because Scanly does not require account creation or registration, there is no account to delete. You have full control over your local data.
### 10. Security
We value your trust and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting your data. Since all document scanning is handled locally on your device, it remains as secure as your device's operating system environment.
